Every 100g fresh wolfberry contain crude protein 5.8g,wolfberry fat 1g,Calcium 155mg,phosphor 67mg,Fe 3.4mg,carotene 3.96mg,Vitamine B 10.23mg,Vitamine C 3mg; Betaine about 1%.
Main Content:
1.Betaine:

Formula: C5 H11N O2. Molecular Weight:117.1474 CAS RN:107-43-7
2.Lycium Barbarum Polysaccharide.LBP:
Definition:Lycium Barbarum Polysaccharide is a kind of Proteoglycan composed from 6 kind of Monosaccharide, they are Arabinose,Glucose,Galactose, Mannose,Rhamnose and Xylose.
A glycoconjugate with pronounced immunoactivity, designated as LbGp2, was isolated from the fruit of Lycium barbarum L (26.). Two kinds of AGP (Cp-2-B and Hp-2-C) were obtained from the fruit of Lycium chinense Mill,The ratio of arabinose to galactose was approximately 1:1 in both samples, and the carbohydrate was linked O-glycosidically to serine in Cp-2-B, and to both serine and threonine residues of the protein in Hp-2-C. The weight-average molecular weight was 71,000 for Cp-2-B and 120,000 for Hp-2-C. (31.)
Other content.:
Atropine;hyoscyamine;zeaxanthin; physalien; cryptoxanthin; scopoletin.Seed contains rich amino acid, including aspartic acid; proline; glutamic acid; glycine; cysteine; lysine; leucine; phenylalanine; serine; arginine;isoleucine; threonine; histidine; tyrosine; tryptophan; methionine;Vitamin A; Vitamin C;Duacosterol, etc.
Some related study identified four cyclic peptides, lyciumins A-D (1-4), three acyclic diterpene glycosides, lyciumosides I-III (5-7) and other three compounds, a tryptophan derivative glycoside (8), a monoterpene glycoside (9) and a steroidal glycoside (10) isolated from Lycium chinense (9.).some relative study identified a a novel ascorbic acid(Vc) analogue from fresh or dry fruit of Lycium barbarum, and its content ratio reach to 0.5% which is said comparable to fresh lemons (70.)
Phytochemicals in leaves.:
Scientifist ever identified flavonol glycosides and genins from the leaves of LYCIUM HALIMIFOLIUM Mill. (Solanaceae),they are quercetin 3- O-rutinoside-7- O-glucoside(1),kaempferol3- O-rutinoside-7- O-glucoside(2),rutin(3),nicotiflorin(4), isoquercitrin(5),quercetin(6),and kaempferol(7) (1.). Some study about Vitamin E content in natural herbs find that leaves of Lycium chinense contains alpha-tocopherol content at concentration of 94.4 mg/kg (29.).Some relative study find wolfberry may contains bioflavonoid Apigenin about 547.0 mg/kg(30.).
Phytochemicals in roots.:
Some relative study identified four compounds from root of Lycium chinense:beta-sitosterol, betaine hydrochloride, scopoletin and E-ferulic acid octacosyl ester (13.).Some other study discovery of 14 calystegines, a cycloheptane bearing an amino group and three hydroxyl groups, and two polyhydroxylated piperidine alkaloids(16.).New phenolic amide, dihydro-N-caffeoyltyramine (1) was isolated from the root bark of Lycium chinense Miller, along with known compounds, trans-N-caffeoyltyramine (2), cis-N-caffeoyltyramine (3), and lyoniresinol 3alpha-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (4)(40.).
