Grapefruit Seed Extract GSE INCI Name CITRUS GRANDIS SEED EXTRACT EINECS ELINCS No 289-904-6 CAS:90045-43-5 photo picture image Grapefruit seed extract is being used for many types of external skin conditions from known or unknown causes (fungal, parasites, bacteria, viral, etc). It is effective against fungal infections of the feet, nails and skin.

 It is also an excellent nontoxic spray for everyday burns, cuts, scrapes, insect bites and wounds. It stops infections dead. It is extremely beneficial in the healing process and greatly reduces than chance of reinfection.

 Grapefruit seed extract is a very good facial cleanser for general cleaning of oily skin and is very helpful in fighting acne infections. Simply apply 2-3 drops of GSE to moistened fingertips and gently massage the wetted facial area in circular motions for about a minute, rinsing thoroughly with cool water. Patients often report a tingling sensation of the skin following the treatment which is indicative of the cleansing action properties of the grapefruit seed extract.

 Acne can be caused by bacterial infections. A few drops of GSE added to your regular liquid cleanser makes a superior solution. GSE reduces bacterial growth and its astringent nature dries up glandular secretions reducing the opportunity for bacteria to breed. It also helps open pores keeping them clean and unclogged thus reducing blackhead and pimple formation!
 Physicians have observed that the herpes simplex virus becomes inactive just ten minutes after the application of grapefruit seed extract.

 Dandruff is most often caused by an inflammatory response to an overgrowth of scalp fungus which causes itching and scaling. When this is the case, good results may be obtained by adding a few drops of GSE to one's regular shampoo, leave on for 3 to 5 minutes.

 It is used against head lice and mites (when no other remedy will work). Grapefruit seed extract is nontoxic as opposed to some over the counter ineffective remedies that are very toxic.

 Grapefruit seed extract is also used to effectively remove warts, corns and other nondescript skin abnormalities.

 Insect Bites and Stings:Apply grapefruit seed extract in an undiluted form. If the skin is sensitive, mix with a little bit of water or almond, olive, sesame, avocado or vegetable oil. Read more about insect bites.

 Itchy Scalp and Dandruff:Add (?) drops grapefruit seed extract to itching scalp each shampoo. Mix in hand or on head with shampoo. Message into scalp and leave on for at least 2 minutes.  Itchy Skin:Use (?) drops grapefruit seed extract per 2-cups water and spray itchy skin and rub in.

 Jock Itch:A few drops of grapefruit seed extract can be spread onto wet hands and rubbed into the penis for treatment purposes. Don't rinse it off afterwards. A mixture containing (?) drops of extract in an 1/4 cup of sesame oil is also suitable for this purpose. Let it take effect for several minutes. Grapefruit seed extract should never be poured onto the penis in its undiluted form since this could lead to intensive irritation (ouch!). Measures should be continued for about 2 weeks. In addition, add (?) drops of grapefruit seed extract to the last rinse when washing you underwear for the next several weeks in order to prevent reinfection.

 Nail Cleaner:To clean whiten toes and fingernails. Use a few drops grapefruit seed extract and scrub nails with a small brush. Let stand for a few minutes before wiping off excess grapefruit seed extract, unless you plan on using nail polish afterwards?

 Nail Fungi:Deformed discolored soft or brittle nails. Mix (?) drops grapefruit seed extract in 1 Tbls of water, grain alcohol or vodka. Apply the solution on the surface of the nail, along cuticle or soak nails 2 times daily. Nail fungus is particularly resistant; several months of regular use may be necessary. For resistant cases add more drops to the above mixture or it may be used full strength if necessary. Eating antifungal foods such as; onions and garlic is helpful.

 Nettle Rash, Chicken Pox, Shingles and Hives:(Varicella-Zoster Virus). Mix (?) drops grapefruit seed extract with 1 tablespoon olive, sesame, almond, avocado or vegetable oil and apply to the skin or mix (?) drops grapefruit seed extract in 1-cup water and spray affected areas, as needed.

 Poison Ivy and Poison Oak:Mix (?) tsp grapefruit seed extract to 5 oz. (10 Tbls) water or (?) grapefruit seed extract to 2 1/2 oz. (5Tbls) water in a spray bottle and apply to a small area of the skin. If a burning sensation results, add a little water. Spray liberally over affected areas. Repeat every 2 hours as needed.

 Psoriasis:An itchy skin disorder characterized by red patches covered by silvery white scales. Mix (?) drops grapefruit seed extract with 1/4 cup olive, sesame, avocado, almond or vegetable oil and rub into affected area twice daily. Read more about psoriasis.

 Rashes:Cracking, dry flaky scaly skin. Mix (?) drops grapefruit seed extract with 1 tablespoon olive, sesame, almond, avocado or vegetable oil and apply to skin 2-3 times daily.

 Ringworm:This is a fungus not a worm. A ring like shape, anywhere on the skin. Mix (?) drops of grapefruit seed extract to 2 1/2 oz. (5 Tbls) water in a spray bottle. Spray affected area.  Shaving Itch:Shaving itch; a micro-infection usually caused by fungus. Thoroughly clean razor and blades before and after using.  Skin Fungi:Moist weepy red patches on the body. Rub undiluted grapefruit seed extract onto the affected spot or mix (?) tsp grapefruit seed extract to 2 1/2 oz. (5Tbls) water, vegetable glycerin or olive, sesame, avocado, almond or vegetable oil.

 Use 2 times daily on a regular basis. This should be continued for some time after symptoms have disappeared since the skin fungi often has not died completely and could grow again.  Skin Moisturizer:Mix (?) drops grapefruit seed extract to 16oz (2 cups water) and spray the skin. It is refreshing and cleansing. Caution: Do not get the spray into the eyes.

 Ticks and Leeches:Put grapefruit seed extract directly onto the tick or leech. Get as close as you can to your skin to remove. Do not squeeze the body. Then remove and put another drop on the bite. Note: Deer ticks can also transmit the even more serious pathogen; Eherlichia that causes HGE that can be fatal. Thoroughly check for tiny deer ticks if you live on an infested area. As an added precaution, mix (?) drops grapefruit seed extract in 8 oz. water. Drink 3 times daily for 1 or 2 weeks as precaution.

 Grapefruit seed extract has also been used for Lyme disease caused by ticks. It appears that grapefruit seed extract can disorganize the organism's cell wall and allow leakage of cellular contents, ultimately resulting in the death of the cell.  Underarm Deodorant:A nontoxic alternative. Mix (?) drops grapefruit seed extract or more if necessary in 2-cups water in a spray bottle. Shake well and spray under the arms (it works very well).

 Varicose Veins:Soak a clean compress or wound pad with a mixture of (?) grapefruit seed extract to 2-4 oz. of boiled and cooled water, place in the affected region. Renew repeatedly.

 Common Warts:Apply a few drops of full concentrate grapefruit seed extract directly onto the wart. Cover with a band-aid. Apply 2 times daily, for 3 weeks or as required.  Warts need to be kept moist with grapefruit seed extract. Sometimes it is necessary to trim excess skin off of the wart, be very careful to sterilize clippers, etc. before and after use and disposes of clippings properly. Warts are tough customers that need constant attention to get rid of. Grapefruit seed extract is very capable of dealing with warts if used properly.
