 In order to identify the effective component from Verbena officinalisn for early pregnancy prevention,repeated silica gel column chromatography, methanol extracts isolated six compounds,they are identified by means of spectral analysis as 3,4-dihydroxy-verbenalin;beta-daucosterol; beta-sitosterol;ursolic acid;verbenalin and 5-hydroxy-verbenalin.Zi Jia Chen and others applying silica gel column chromatography, Sephadex LH 20 column chromatography, and other chromatographic separation ways, through physical and chemical constants and spectral data analysis identified its chemical structure,results from the ethanol extract of Verbena officinalis comes five compounds, they were identified as 9-hydroxysem peroside(1);verbenalin(2);ursolicacidlactone(3);2alpha,3beta,23 trihydoxyurs-12en-28oicacid(4) and tormenticacid(5).Chemicals 1,3,4 and 5 the first time isolated from this herb.Chemical 3 shows cranial nerve growth factor activity.Methanol extracts repeated silica gel column chromatography separation, physical and chemical properties and the identification of spectral analysis of its structure, isolated six compounds monomer and identified which three compounds were hexadecanoic acid ;ursolic acid and beta-sitosterol;hexadecanoic acid and ursolic acid firstly isolated from Verbena officinalis of China origin.Ethanol extracts isolated with macroporous resin, silicone, polyamide column chromatographic separation, monomer composition obtained through UV, IR, NMR and MS spectral analysis structure. Results obtained four compounds were identified as Apigenin;4'hydroxy-Wogonin;verbinalin;Apigenin and 4'hydroxy-Wogonin are firstly isolated from this plant family.Admission Verbenaceae aerial part methanol extracts,distribute in water/ethyl acetate (1:1),take the ethyl acetate dissolved part silica gel column with ethyl acetate methanol gradient elution; Sephadex LH-20P-chu and RP - HPLC-purified preparation obtained compounds I, II, III.New Phytochemical I is yellow color,Melting point 178~180 Deg C;Molecular Formula C₃₀H₂₆O₈;structure as 2',4',3',2',4'-5hydroxy-4O4'-4H-dihydrochalcone;named as littorachalcone.Chemical II and chemical III are 4'hydroxy-wogonin and 8,3' dimethoxy 5,7,4'trihydroxyflavanone.
