Et Franch photo picture image Perennial herb growing to 0.7m by 0.3m, crouched with thick hairs.thick root, conical, purple dry stem. Vertical stems,upper part sticks. leaf cross, lanceolate, 4.5 to 8 cm long, 1 to 2 cm wide, non-stalk or stalk. Calyx segment linear; Corolla white, and 6 to 8 mm long, throat five scales. Small oval nuts, about 3 mm, gray, smooth. May to June flowering,fruit July to August,and the seeds ripen from July to September.The flowers are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs).The plant prefers light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils. The plant prefers acid, neutral and basic (alkaline) soils. It can grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade. It requires moist soil.

 Habitat:Spread in barren hills and fields,roadside and dry rocky bush of slope. Distribution to provinces including Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, Henan, Anhui, Guangxi, Guizhou, Jiangsu, and other. Arnenia euchroma (Royle) Johnst mainly available from Xinjiang, Tibet, Gansu provinces. Onosma paniculatum Bur. Et Franch available from Yunnan and Tibet, Sichuan, Guizhou province.

 Resource Condtiions:

 Cultivation details:Requires a warm sunny position in a moderately fertile well-drained soil. Prefers a neutral to alkaline soil and also succeeds in partial shade. Plants are hardy to at least -15.

 Propagation:Seed - sow spring or autumn in a cold frame. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on in the greenhouse for their first winter. Plant them out into their permanent positions in late spring or early summer, after the last expected frosts. Cuttings. Division in the autumn.
