Witchcraft Glossary give discussions to myth and ritual, alchemistry and other relatives, witchcraft and witchery!Witchcraft, in various historical, anthropological, religious and mythological contexts, is the alleged use of supernatural or magical powers. Historically, it was widely believed that witchcraft involved the use of these powers to inflict harm upon members of a community or their property.
Since the mid 20th century, the term witchcraft has sometimes been used to distinguish between bad witchcraft and good witchcraft, with the latter often involving healing. The concept of witchcraft as harmful is normally treated as a cultural ideology, a means of explaining human misfortune by blaming it either on a supernatural entity or a known person in the community. A witch (from Old English wicce f. / wicca m.) is a practitioner of witchcraft.
The "witch-cult hypothesis", a controversial theory that European witchcraft was a suppressed pagan religion, was popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Since the mid-20th century, Witchcraft has become the self-designation of a branch of neopaganism, especially in the Wicca tradition following Gerald Gardner, who claimed a religious tradition of Witchcraft with pre-Christian roots.

Dark of the Moon:Technically, this phase occurs during the last two days of the fourth lunar phase and on the actual day of the new moon. These are the days when the moon is not visible in the night sky.I have read in various books over the years that this is supposedly a "dangerous" lunar phase and that you should not cast any spells or perform any magics during this time.I strongly disagree.Who started this nonsense anyway?.1
Decidous:Trees, plants, and shrubs that shed their foliage in the fall and become dormant in the winter months.
Drying Rack:This is just what it sounds like:a rack to arrange herbs on so they can dry out without going moldy. This is actually pretty simple to make. One easy method is to staple pieces of cheesecloth over the top of a shallow, open cardboard box or a baking rack.Stretch the fabric tight. That way,the herbs lie on the taut, gauzy fabric, and air can circulate on all sides. You can also bind the herbs into small bundles and wrap each end with a rubber band. Then open one end of a paper clip, and hook it under the rubber band.Use the other end of the clip as a hanger, and hang the bundle upside down to dry.
Dandelion:Dandelion(Taraxacum officinale). Also known as Cankerwort,Wild Endive,Lion's Tooth,Blow Ball.If the ripe down blows off without a wind,it will soon rain.To send a message to another person or to the Gods, concentrate while holding a ripe flower. When you have been able to hold the message for about a minute, blow off the flower-down.2
